Novell rolls out new partner programme for the academic market
Novell today announced the launch of a new programme designed to increase its footprint in the academic market. The Academic Partner Programme, covering public and private colleges, universities and schools, will be rolled out on August 1, 2007. Access to academic licensing agreements will be limited to partners who meet the criteria for the programme, ensuring that partners delivering to Novell's academic customers are equipped with the right services and expertise to best serve this very specialised market.
As a direct result of the new framework Bell Micro has been appointed as the primary distributor of Novell software licenses to the academic market. Novell will be looking to expand the number of academic resellers it works with via its collaboration with Bell Micro.
"The market for education software is a key growth area for Novell, and we're seeing strong demand for our solutions in this space," said John Bainbridge, Partner Sales Director UK and Ireland, Novell. "We're responding to this head- on with the launch of our Academic Partner Programme, which will ensure the best possible deal for academic customers and resellers. The programme will also give our academic customers further confidence that resellers can both understand their needs and meet their requirements."
